Configure Discounts and Supplements in Channel PRO
When you have multiple accommodations connected to different portals, being able to adapt your pricing strategy with flexibility makes all the difference. This module allows you to set up custom discounts and supplements by portal and by property, helping you optimize revenue without complications.
Additionally, with the new exclusion options, you can ensure that certain conditions apply only on your web and not on external portals.
Temporary Adjustment
We are currently working to improve the Discounts and Supplements configuration section in Channel PRO. Please note that we have implemented some temporary limitations in the functionality of this section during the update period.
What remains the same?
Your current configuration will continue to work without changes. No action is required.
All existing rules will remain active with their current configuration.
Temporary changes during the update
While we work on these improvements, the following limitations will apply in Channel PRO:
The conditions of existing rules can be edited, but they cannot be applied to specific properties.
If needed, you can delete rules.
You can create new rules, but these must apply to all properties (specific properties cannot be selected)
You can update an existing rule to apply to all properties, but the change will not be reversible.
This update only affects the Channel PRO module. The discounts and supplements module in VRMS will remain unchanged and will function as usual.
What can you do from this section?
Customize your strategy by channel
With the Discounts and Supplements module, you can apply specific conditions for properties connected through Channel PRO. This means you can tailor your promotions according to the channel, the type of customer, or even the season.
Key advantages
Total control over prices and promotions
Compatibility with various types of discounts and supplements
Flexible assignment by property or portal
Exclusion of accommodations that should not apply discounts
Optimization of campaigns on your web or direct channel
Key points to keep in mind
If a property is associated with a rule in Channel PRO, it will disregard the conditions set in VRMS.
Once a rule expires, VRMS rules will not automatically reactivate.
Rules can only be applied to portals managed from Channel PRO (not from the Channel Manager).
Google and Booking.com XML (Single rate) do not allow discounts or supplements from this module.
Step-by-step to create a rule
Access "Price Modifiers" from the side menu of Channel PRO.
Click on "New Rule".
Enter an internal name for the rule and click "Apply".
Press "Assign" to select the portals and properties it will apply to.
Choose the available portals and then select all properties or just some. Confirm with "Apply".
Press "Add" to define the seasons or, if you already have created rules, select "Copy Rule".
Select the type of discount or supplement. Only those compatible with the chosen portal will be activated.
Define the parameters: percentage, dates, number of nights, etc.
Click on "Continue" to add more conditions or save the rule.
Useful tip
If you need to apply the same rule to other portals, use the "copy rule" option to save time.
Types of discounts and supplements available
Simple discount
Simple supplement
Long stay discount
Short stay supplement
Early booking discount (specific date or X days before arrival)
Attention to details
Some types of discounts may not be available on all portals. The system will automatically deactivate them if they are not compatible.
How to exclude accommodations from discounts or supplements
Go to the Discounts and Supplements section.
Enter the Excluded Accommodations section.
Select the portal.
Choose to exclude all accommodations or only specific ones.
Click on Save.
Once this configuration is applied, the discounts and supplements will not sync with that portal for the selected properties. This includes those configured in both Channel PRO and VRMS.
Best practices
Use clear names for your rules to identify them easily.
Apply early booking discounts on portals where bookings are usually made in advance (like Vrbo).
Use short stay supplements on key dates or holidays.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I have active discounts in VRMS and Channel PRO?
The system prioritizes Channel PRO rules. If there is an active one, the VRMS configuration will be ignored.
Can I apply rules to Booking.com if I have the XML connection (Single rate)?
No. This configuration does not allow syncing discounts or surcharges.
Can I apply a discount only on my web?
Yes. Use the option to exclude accommodations from external portals, and make sure to set up the discount only in the VRMS.
What happens when a rule expires?
No other rule is activated automatically, not even those configured in the VRMS.
Can multiple rules be active at the same time?
Yes, as long as they don't overlap in dates or properties, you can combine multiple rules.
