Providing your customers with the best user experience is key to making your properties stand out. With Google Maps, you can offer them a clear and familiar view of each property’s location, replacing Mapbox maps. This guide will show you how to obtain the necessary API keys to integrate this service into your website.
Steps to follow
a) Enable the API
Click Create Project, fill in the requested information (project name, organization, location), and click Create.
In the left-hand menu of the control panel, select APIs & Services.
Next, click Enable APIs and Services.
Choose the following API: Maps JavaScript API.
If you don’t see it in the main panel, use the search bar.
Click Enable.
b) Get credentials
Once you’ve completed the previous steps, return to the left-hand menu and go to APIs & Services → Credentials.
Then click Create Credentials → API Key.
A pop-up window will appear with the API key — this is the key you’ll need to send us.
Complete the billing information for your Google account.
To activate the API, Google requires that you fill out your billing details. Go to the menu, select the Billing tab → Link a billing account, and follow the steps.
If this information isn’t completed correctly, your map will display like this:
To ensure that your API key can only be used on your website, select Websites under Application Restrictions, and in Website Restrictions, add the site(s) you want to authorize.
If you leave the website field blank, your API key will accept requests from any website.
Finally, click Save.
You can now send your API key to the Avantio team. Our technical team will configure Google Maps on your website and notify you once the setup is complete.
