Smart Locks That Integrate with Chekin

Thanks to the integration between Avantio and Chekin, you will have access to all smart locks available with Chekin, whether you use Chekin or not.

How Can I Start Working with a Smart Lock Supplier from the Chekin Marketplace?

If You Are Already a Chekin Customer

Step 1: Activate the Remote Access Feature in Your Chekin Account

If you have a smart lock and want to activate remote access in your Chekin account, you must first log in to your Chekin account.

Once logged in, go to the "properties" tab and click on your property to access the configuration. Then, just follow these steps to activate it:

  1. Find the "Remote Access" section in the property settings.

  2. Press the button to activate it.

  1. Once activated, a pop-up will appear asking you to select how many properties to activate the feature on and the total cost of the tool.

  1. Next, you must select your smart lock supplier from the dropdown list.

Please note that to connect to a smart lock supplier through Chekin, you must already be working with this smart lock company.

  1. Once the selection is made, Chekin will ask you to enter the username and password to establish the connection.

  1. If the credentials are correct, another pop-up will appear notifying you that the account has been successfully added.

  1. Configure the door. Once you have connected your Chekin account with your supplier, you will need to select the door of that property so that Chekin can send the codes to Avantio, and then through a template and Harmony to your guests.

To link the door to the property, you must follow these steps:

  1. Find the "Doors" section in the "Remote Access" section.

  2. Click the "add door" button.

  3. A pop-up will open where you will need to select the type of door, its ID, and the name you will give it in Chekin.

  4. Among the types of doors, you will have to choose between: building door; apartment door; smart box; unknown.

  5. Choose the door corresponding to your property in the ID section.

  6. Enter the name of the door.

  7. Click "add".

  8. Click "save".

Some locks require an integration fee to connect with Chekin

RemoteLock requires an additional fee to allow the configuration connection with Chekin. Therefore, for all locks labeled "powered by RemoteLock" (e.g., Yale, Schlage), you will also need a subscription with RemoteLock and pay the additional fee.

If You Are Not a Chekin Customer

If you are not yet a Chekin customer, you will first need to create your Chekin account.

Integration Process for Customers Who Have Not Previously Worked with Chekin

Please request the connection with Chekin only after signing with Chekin and having your Chekin access data.

  1. Once you have created your Chekin account and accessed your login data, create a ticket for Avantio Support and request the Chekin connection.

  2. The Avantio Support team will provide you with the credentials to be used to synchronize your Avantio and Chekin accounts.

  3. Once you have the credentials, go to the Chekin registration page and enter your existing login data (NOT THE CREDENTIALS PROVIDED BY AVANTIO). At the bottom of the same page, click YES on "Do you want to connect your PMS?" and choose Avantio from the list.

  4. Enter the credentials provided by Avantio Support in the window that will appear after clicking Continue. Now a synchronization between Avantio and Chekin is established.

If you only want to use the smart lock without the online check-in service, when logged into your Chekin account, go to Settings (top right corner) and in the Online Check-in section make sure it is deactivated. If you are going to use both services, do the opposite and activate the online check-in.

Now, when you have your account, the process to connect to smart lock suppliers is the same as in the previous section "If You Are Already a Chekin Customer".

Chekin sends Avantio the access data received from your smart lock supplier. The property access information is stored in VRMS so it can be sent to guests through Harmony.

The booking confirmation email must be sent at least 30 minutes after the booking confirmation.
