Manage Reviews on Airbnb from Channel PRO

Reviews are much more than just opinions: they influence other travelers' decisions, increase trust, and improve the visibility of your accommodations on Airbnb. Plus, you can now manage them directly from the VRMS, without needing to log into Airbnb.

How Reviews Work on Airbnb

  • From Guest to Host: at the end of each stay, the guest can leave a public review and, optionally, a private comment just for you.

  • From Host to Guest: you can also review the guest, evaluating cleanliness, communication, rule compliance, and whether you would host them again.

  • Deadlines: both parties have 14 days after check-out to leave their review.

👉 Pay Attention to Details: reviews are published only when both parties have reviewed or, failing that, after 14 days.

Where to View and Respond to Reviews

  1. Go to Bookings > Reviews in the VRMS.

  2. You will find two distinct sections:

    • Stay Reviews: what guests write about your accommodation.

    • Guest Reviews: your reviews about the guests (only available for Airbnb bookings).

  3. Click on a review to open a side panel with:

    • Booking dates.

    • Direct link to the booking in VRMS.

    • Received ratings and comments.

    • Options to respond publicly.

Review the Guest

  • You can leave the review from check-out up to 14 days after.

  • The rating is given in stars (1 to 5) and is converted to a scale of 1 to 10 in VRMS for comparison with other platforms.

  • You can also add a public comment and a private one (only visible to the guest).

👉 Helpful Tip: leave your review first. This encourages the guest to do the same.

Automatic Response to Guests

To ensure you don't miss the chance to review:

  • Activate the automatic review feature in VRMS.

  • Set up a template with:

    • Public text.

    • Optional private comment.

    • Evaluations of cleanliness, communication, and rule compliance.

  • The system will send the review within the timeframe you choose (1, 2, 3, 5, 7, or 10 days after check-out).

If you don't leave a manual review in that time, the automatic one will be sent by default.

Notifications in VRMS

  • Rate the Guest: notification when a guest checks out (14 days left to review them).

  • Deadline Approaching: reminder 2 days before the 14 days end.

  • New Review Received: notification when a guest leaves you a review, so you can respond.

New: Tags in Reviews

Airbnb has added the option of tags that highlight the positive or negative aspects of a stay.

  • They apply to categories like cleanliness, communication, location, or rule respect.

  • If the guest gives less than 4 stars → negative tags appear.

  • If they give 4 or 5 stars → positive tags are shown.

This helps you identify trends and areas for improvement.

Best Practices

  • Always Respond: even a simple "thank you for your feedback" shows professionalism.

  • Be Brief and Constructive: avoid public arguments, respond calmly even to criticism.

  • Use Tags as a Guide: detect patterns and apply improvements to your accommodation or service.

  • Don't Wait Until the Last Minute: the sooner you review, the more likely the guest will do the same.

Quick Checklist

  • Have you responded to all pending reviews?

  • Have you left a review for the guest within the 14 days?

  • Is the automatic review feature activated?

  • Are you reviewing the tags to identify opportunities for improvement?

Conclusion

Managing reviews well helps you gain visibility and build trust with future guests. Use the VRMS to centralize the entire process, respond quickly, and activate automation to not miss opportunities.
