When you connect your accommodations to Booking.com using the Content API, you avoid manual management and ensure that your information is always up-to-date in both systems. This allows you to work more peacefully and focus your time on what really matters: your bookings and guests.

What information is synchronized

Avantio sends all the information from your VRMS to Booking.com. However, what is ultimately published on the portal depends on the compatibilities of the Content API.

The data that is typically synchronized includes:

  • Availability and rates

  • Cancellation policies

  • VAT and other configured taxes

  • Property information (descriptions, photos, amenities)

  • Stay conditions

👉 Attention to details: some sections (such as promotions created directly on Booking.com or guest reviews) have their own synchronization rules.

Available connection types

There are two types of connection with the Content API:

  1. Full connection: both rates and availability, as well as content (descriptions, photos, amenities), are synchronized.

  2. Partial connection: rates and availability are synchronized, but content is managed directly from the Booking.com extranet.

👉 Before activating the connection, you must choose one of these options, although you can always request a change later.

Requirements to activate the Content API

To complete the connection, you need to provide:

  • LEID (Legal Entity ID) of your account on Booking.com.

  • Applicable VAT percentage.

  • Default cancellation policy.

  • Type of connection (partial or full).

Best practices

  • Clearly define your general cancellation policy, but remember that you can later add variations (strict, non-refundable, seasonal).

  • Ensure that VAT and other taxes are configured correctly before activating the connection: this will prevent discrepancies in final prices.

  • If you choose partial connection, review and update your content directly in the Booking.com extranet to keep it consistent.

Quick checklist

  • I have chosen the type of connection (full or partial)

  • I have requested and confirmed my LEID

  • I have defined the applicable VAT

  • I have established my default cancellation policy

  • I have reviewed the photos and descriptions of my properties

Frequently asked questions

Can I switch from partial to full connection later?
Yes, although it is not done from Channel PRO. You will need to request it from the Customer Service team.

Are promotions from Booking.com synchronized?
No. Promotions created on Booking.com are not transmitted to Channel PRO.

What happens if I don't configure VAT correctly?
Inconsistencies could arise between the prices shown in Avantio and those appearing on Booking.com.

Are guest reviews also sent?
Yes, but the management of responses is always done directly in the Booking.com extranet.

What happens if I don't define a cancellation policy?
You will not be able to complete the connection, as it is a mandatory requirement for the Content API.

Conclusion

The Content API from Booking.com allows you to centralize the management of rates, availability, and content from Channel PRO. Choosing the right type of connection and correctly configuring the initial parameters is key to ensuring smooth synchronization.
