To enhance your website and attract new customers, Avantio has developed a set of marketing tools. With them, you can:

  • Improve the browsing experience for your customers.

  • Show more targeted results to your target audience.

  • Increase the conversion of visits to direct bookings.

To access them, log into your VRMS account and click on the WEB tab:

  • Select the web with the selector

  • Select Web Tools

Customizable Banners

The customizable banner allows you to set up a small block of text to highlight a message on your website and grab the attention of potential customers, whether to communicate policy changes (for example during the Covid19 period) or for new campaigns, promotions, or services. The banner can appear on the homepage, and/or results listing, and/or on the accommodation pages of your website.

Configuration

Top banner configuration:

  • Notice text (maximum 150 characters)

  • Text color

  • Background color

  • Link (optional)

  • Pages where it appears: Homepage and/or Results listing and/or Accommodation page

Bottom banner configuration:

  • Short title (maximum 35 characters)

  • Text color

  • Background color

  • Text/description (maximum 150 characters)

  • Link (optional)

  • Pages where it appears: Homepage and/or Results listing and/or Accommodation page

To deactivate each banner, click the activation/deactivation button.

The text "More information" / "+INFO" cannot be edited.


Cart Recovery

Push Notifications

Push Notifications (or booking continuation notifications) allow you to attract a user who has abandoned the booking process to return.

For example, if a user is simulating a booking process but jumps to another page or returns to the homepage, this notification will be shown after a time interval (default 5 seconds).

  • If the user closes the notification, it will not be shown again until they repeat the same flow (a new booking abandonment).

  • If the user clicks on the notification, it will take them to the pre-filled booking form with their details (as they left it at the time of abandonment) so they can complete the booking process.

Configuration

  • To deactivate it, click the activation/deactivation button.

  • Notification appearance after abandoning checkout without booking: you can choose between 5 seconds / 10 seconds / 15 seconds / 20 seconds

  • Notification style:

    • Black with white text: black background with white text

    • White with black text: white background with black text

    • Corporate with white text: corporate color with white text

    • Corporate with black text: corporate color with black text

View on the website:

This functionality is only compatible with websites version 7 and 8 and applies regardless of the payment method.


Booking Continuation Email

The booking continuation email allows you to recover a booking that may have failed during the payment process. This attempt is saved as "Cart Abandonment" in the VRMS (in the Bookings section, it is a status that allows you to filter your bookings).

This email is sent only if the system has not detected any booking with the same details.

The email template that the tourist will receive will be like this model and will be reflected in the message history of the "Cart Abandonment". The "Continue booking" button will take them to the checkout form on the website, with pre-filled details, so the traveler can complete the booking with a single click.

This functionality is only compatible with websites version 7 and 8 and when the payment platform is Avantio Payments.

Configuration

  • Email sending after abandoning checkout without booking: you can choose between 12 hours / 24 hours / 48 hours

  • To deactivate it, click the activation/deactivation button.


User-Based Results

User-based results (or dynamic homepage) consist of showing users browsing your website results and suggestions based on their previous searches. This way, the suggestions will be more focused on their criteria and increase the possibility of a booking.

The dynamic homepage includes 3 widgets that we will detail below.

Recently Viewed Accommodations

This widget, present both on the homepage and in the booking system, shows up to the last 3 accommodations visited. Visited means that the end user has entered the accommodation page. Upon returning to the home or continuing to browse the website, this accommodation will be visible in the widget.

  • This widget does not take into account search dates or availability, it shows the price "FROM".

  • It is compatible with both own accommodations and cross selling.

  • This widget will not be shown to users who enter the website for the first time, as there is no browsing history to display.

Recommended Accommodations

This widget, present both on the homepage and in the booking system, shows up to a maximum of 12 accommodations according to the search parameters entered by the tourist.

Widget interaction:

Homepage without data → If no search has been conducted on the web, the widget of top-rated accommodations is displayed.

First search results → If the first search is without a destination, the top-rated accommodations are shown. If a destination is specified, the search is expanded to 10km based on the previously mentioned filters, and the top-rated accommodations are displayed.

Homepage with previous searches → Based on the previously mentioned filters, the search is expanded to 10km and the top-rated accommodations are shown.

Results with previous searches → The top-rated accommodations from the expanded searches are shown according to the previously mentioned criteria.

This widget takes into account the filters for Location, number of occupants, and feature filters. It's important to always keep the feature filters selected when displaying recommended accommodations.

Both own accommodations and cross selling are considered.

You cannot configure which accommodations to prioritize; the algorithm is applied automatically.

Activation

  • To view them from the booking system: the widgets must be activated from User-based results.

  • To view them from the homepage: send a request to your Project Manager if your project is still in development, or to the Customer Experience team.

Top-rated accommodations

This widget displays from 2 to a maximum of 6 star accommodations of the company, according to the best review ranking. Availability or previous searches are not considered.

To activate Top-rated accommodations (which is only shown on the homepage): send a request to your Project Manager if your project is still in development, or to the Customer Experience team.

This functionality is only compatible with web versions 7 and 8.


Featured messages

The "Featured messages" tool allows you to highlight security and increase conversions on your web.

Avantio offers 2 options for featured messages:

  1. "Book safe" accommodation notice that will be displayed on the accommodation page of the web as long as one of the 3 new disinfection extras is activated. The +INFO button will take the tourist to the section of included or optional services, depending on the configuration of the extra associated with the accommodation.

  1. Free cancellation notice, which will be displayed in the results list and on the accommodation page according to the date and cancellation conditions. This will encourage the tourist to book with more confidence knowing they have a free cancellation period and will increase your direct bookings.

Activation

  • Slide the activation button to the right

  • Configure the styles of the icons associated with the free cancellation notice.

    • Type 1 - colored icons (will take the corporate color of the web)

    • Type 2 - gray icons

This functionality is only compatible with web versions 7 and 8.


Customizable pop-up

This tool allows you to display a pop-up on your website with fully customizable content. It's ideal for capturing your visitors' attention and guiding them towards specific actions.

Key Benefits:

  • Highlight offers and promotions: Use the pop-up to announce discounts, special packages, or new properties and links that take users directly to those pages.

  • Language segmentation: You can customize the message for each language of your website. This allows you to create unique strategies for different audiences or show the same content to all visitors, regardless of their language.

  • Save and review your work: You have the option to save the pop-up configuration without publishing it immediately. This way, you can prepare it in advance and launch it at the perfect moment.

Configuration

At the end of the page, you will find the new CUSTOMIZABLE POP UP tool, click on Edit.

  1. Add an image (jpg, png format)
    Once the image is added, you have 3 options (by clicking the 3 dots):

    1. Change the image - Replace the added image with another

    2. Apply to all languages - Apply the added image to all languages

    3. Delete - Remove the image

Each image must be deleted individually in each language; mass deletion is not possible.

  1. Select the location: where the pop-up will appear on your web.
    You can select more than one page:

    1. Home

    2. Results list

    3. Accommodation page

  2. When it appears: by selecting the option [On page load] the pop-up will be published on the web.

  3. Link to: link a URL to the image and direct user interaction where you want. You can add a different link for each language

Implications with other products

If you have one of the Exit tools configured, it's important to consider that the customizable pop-up functionality takes priority over the Exit tool(s). If the pop-up is configured, the Exit tool will not appear. Once the pop-up is deactivated, the Exit tool will reappear.
