Review the NF525 requirements on your invoices
From 24 November 2025, if your company is NF525 certified, your invoices must include two specific pieces of information to remain compliant:
Invoice type: goods, services or mixed.
VAT option: based on debits or on collections.
These new settings are mandatory to comply with the updated NF525 requirements, so it is advisable to make sure they are correctly defined before issuing new invoices.
In addition, two new fields will appear on the invoice template: “Advance date” and “Reference document”.
If you work with customised invoice templates, you must manually add these two fields to the template design to remain compliant with the NF525 certification.
Configure these NF525 fields on booking invoices
Booking invoices take their information directly from your invoicing rules. That is why it is essential to correctly configure both the invoice type and the VAT option in those rules.
Follow these steps to configure them
Go to the menu VRMS → Accounting → Configure invoicing rules.
Edit an existing rule or create a new rule if you need a different setup for a specific type of bookings.
In the rule editor, configure the invoice type by selecting the option that best fits your business model. The available options are:
“Livraison de biens (LB)”: for invoices related to the sale of goods.
“Prestation de services (PS)”: for invoices related to the provision of services.
“Double (LBPS)”: for invoices that combine goods and services.
Configure the VAT payment option in the “VAT Payment Option” field, according to the VAT basis used in your company:
“TVA sur les débits”: when VAT is calculated based on debits.
“TVA sur les encaissements”: when VAT is calculated based on collections.
Check that the combination of invoice type and VAT option is appropriate for your bookings and save the changes in the invoicing rule.
From that moment on, the booking invoices generated with those rules will automatically inherit the invoice type and VAT option you have configured.
Invoices for extra services and expenses are not linked to your invoicing rules. This means that each time you issue an invoice of this type, you will have to manually select the invoice type and the VAT option. These options will appear as drop-down fields on the preview screen before issuing the invoice.
Attention to detail
Before finalising the configuration, review your customised invoice templates and the invoices for extra services and expenses. Make sure the templates include the “Advance date” and “Reference document” fields and check in each manual invoice that the selected invoice type and VAT option really match the type of transaction you are invoicing.

Once you define the type (LB, PS or LBPS) and the VAT option (“TVA sur les débits” or “TVA sur les encaissements”) in the rule, all booking invoices associated with that rule will automatically inherit those values.

How do I adapt my customised invoice templates to remain NF525 compliant?
If you use customised invoice templates, you must add the “Advance date” and “Reference document” fields in the template design, since these fields appear automatically in the standard templates. Including these fields, together with the invoice type and VAT option correctly configured in your rules or in manual invoices, helps you remain compliant with the NF525 certification.
